This is a blog all about the neighbourhood of Holland Park, W11, a rather posh area of West London.
Holland Park is one of the wealthiest areas in the UK. They have no disabled parking here (afterall, you can’t make money off cripples) and they want to ban buses, since they bring poor into the area.
I live here despite being quite poor myself. I’m moderately jealous, though they rich people I see around me don’t seem especially happy. Maybe they’re happy on the inside.
I know I bring house values down whenever I go to the newsagents in my slippers. The proper residents must resent that. I find this area endlessly interesting, frustrating, amusing and appalling.
It’s not generally a friendly place, but it can be glamorous. Artists, Rock Stars, Directors and even Paul Daniels have all lived here at one time or another.
